Al Roman came to America as a twelve-year-old boy with little more than determination and a willingness to work. From the start, he helped his father, Enrico, translate on job sites and call in lumber orders before heading to eighth grade. Al was learning what it meant to show up, take responsibility, and do things the right way.
As the business grew, Al became the backbone of daily operations. His days started early and ended late—working full days on job sites, coming home for dinner with his family, and then heading back out in the evenings to prepare estimates and plan upcoming work. Construction wasn’t just a job for him; it was who he was.

He took the greatest pride in the company’s public-sector work, including major projects for Navy bases in Philadelphia, Warminster, and Johnsville, as well as high-profile clients like the Franklin Mint and the Department of Agriculture in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. His reputation in the industry remains strong today, known as an innovator who consistently delivered high-quality workmanship at fair, honest pricing.
Al built the company on simple but unwavering values: quality, relationships, preparation, and communication. He visited every job site daily, stayed in constant contact with his crews, and believed that problems were solved before they ever had a chance to become issues.

His motto still guides the company today: review the site, check the materials, and never begin until everything is right—start right, finish right. That foundation shaped the next generation. His sons, Pete and Andy, both earned college degrees in engineering and construction management before joining the family business. Al insisted that they first work elsewhere to learn how other companies operated—both the good and the bad—before bringing that knowledge back home.
Today, Pete and Andy proudly carry forward the legacy their father built, upholding the same commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and relationships that have defined Enrico Roman, Inc. for more than seventy years. Combined these three men have over 125 years experience in the construction industry.
